Used Car Dealerships vs. New Car Dealerships

When looking for a car, be it new or used, there are many different ways to go about such a large decision.  Finances are by far the most important consideration.  Your preference is important and safety ratings are important.  Used cars are typically more affordable while new cars are usually more reliable.  Again, all of the options need to be considered carefully before making a decision.

Used Car Dealerships:

THe first thing you need to know about used car dealerships is that the earned reputation of a used car dealer is just that, earned.  Too many people have bought a used car only to find out that the car was a big fat lemon.  Used car dealers ted to be less professional than new car dealers.  This is not to say they are all bad, some used car dealerships have a very good reputation, you have to do a little research before you go to a dealership.  If you notice that one dealership has more lemon reports than others, stay away.  It is very likely that you will also buy a lemon at that point.

New Car Dealerships:

Most new car dealerships offer an excellent customer service experience.  Air conditioned show rooms, snacks and child waiting areas allow the customer to feel more at home and are less likely to get anxious and leave before buying a car.  Buying a new car is the most financially safe method of buying transportation, but much more expensive.

Do you want quality or a more affordable vehicle.  If you choose to go with a used car, research both the dealership and the car before you make a purchase.
